As part of series of articles called Digital Art and the Attention Economy, this article was published in MnArtists, the Minnesota arts and artists platform of the Walker Art Center. As with each of the articles in the series, I interview working artists and others involved in the creative spaces of digital art and delve into how they are using new technologies. A central concern is the various ways—good, bad, and otherwise—technology is affecting the creative process. Additionally, I investigate how artists are working to build digital communities and networks of mutual support in emerging techno-financial spaces.
